Since the Eco-Announcers forgot to hand in their announcement in time (grr!) I decided to share some of the students' favourite things about the Sustainability Program.
My favourite thing about our program is planting things and I'm excited about the chickens. I'm also excited about what the garden is going to look like when we finish. I think it's going to be really interesting watching the plants and the whole garden grow!
My favourite thing about our sustainability program is that when we grow something like basil or coriander, we always get to try some. Another thing I like is that whenever we plant something, we get to see it grow. When it is big enough we transfer our seedlings outside. The most important part of it is when a plant goes (in a high squeaky voice) "I want more of me" it produces more plants by letting out its seeds.
My favourite thing is that we get to use the things that we plant. It is soooo much fun and we are actually learning about the plants; what you should put with them when you plant them, what insects and pests are atracted to them and all that kind of stuff. BUT the most fun thing about our sustainability program is that we get to help! We get to plant our own things instead of watching someone do it for us!
